Do they work or are they promoted by a pack of lies?

This is Trump’s second time around promoting tax cuts. He is using the same lies to support his tax cuts again.

INTRODUCTION

During the first Trump kick at the can as president, in supporting the tax cuts that lined his and his friends’ pockets, he said, “the average household would, conservatively, realize an increase in wage and salary income of $4,000, and that could rise as much as $9,000 per year.

The big lie was that the tax cut would trickle down to ordinary workers as a result of businesses increasing investment; leading to higher productivity and higher wages and pay for itself. It would make America Great Again.

DID THAT WORK?

No, it did not. There is no arguing the facts, but that is not stopping Trump from recycling his old arguments again.

"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." The sad part, it appears that there are millions who are trusting this a second time.

NO PROMISED INVESTMENT BOOST

Investment went from +7.7% in 2018 to -9.8% in 2020. A drop of 17.5%.

What did companies do? They paid their owners greater profits.

The tax changes failed to deliver the promised investment boost

CORPORATE TAXES DID NOT PAY FOR THE BREAKS

The promise was, with new investment, there would be greater taxes paid that would pay for all of this. That did not happen.

The corporate tax changes nowhere near paid for themselves.

Why do you think Truimp increased the debt by $8 trillion – to pay for all of this.

BRINGING THE JOBS HOME

We have all heard this before. The first time around, Trunp claimed that a tax cut would dramatically reduce the trade deficit.

It did not work then, but it does not stop from Trump to tell us all this again.

WHAT IS TRUMP DOING?

This all began to formulate in my mind after I heard a Trump supporter say, “I support Trump because he is reducing waste, abuse and corruption.” She said this even though she had lost her job to the Musk cuts.

MY FRUSTRATION

How do we get through to people who believe this Kook-Aid and not believe the butchering of the government is being done to pay for the tax cuts, which even that will not work.

The tax cuts are going to cost $425 billion per year or $4.25 trillion over the next ten years.

PAYING FOR THE TAX CUTS

The first time around, Donald Trump's proposed to pay for the tax cuts by:

Economic Growth: That did not happen the first time around. Why do we think it will work the second time around?

Spending Cuts: That did not happen the first time around – Musk is now buthering the federal government to achieve this; but where is the $2 trillion waste, abuse and corruption promised?

Waste: The government employees, the scapegoats. If Musk fires 50% of the government workers, about 1 million people, there will be a reduction of $90 billion or 1.5% of the federal budget.

Corruption: Has Musk found any yet?

Deficit Financing: The first time around, Trump increased the federal debt by $8 trillion. He wants to raise the debt ceiling; if Musk is going to pay for this by cutting waste, abuse and corruption, why would Trump need to raise the debt ceiling – because the second time around will be no different than the first.

Abuse: How do we know as there are so many lies circling this.

THE LIES

If Musk and Trump were finding what they said they were going to find, they would not have to lie. But they continue to lie – doesn’t that tell you something?

Trump lied about stopping the war in the Ukrain, about lowering the price of eggs, inflation and the price of gas. Sorry, I digress.

Some of the lies that Trump and Musk have promoted to try to convince us of waste, abuse and corruption:

  • $8 million is being spent on transgender mice. I am sorry, I can only laugh; Trump does not know the difference between transgender and transgetic.

  • A video that they said showed USAID was paying for celebrities to visit foreign countries

  • They lied about a Pentagon contract for defense against cyberattacks.

  • A claim about government spending on The New York Times

  • An invented story about condoms for Gaza.

  • False claims about DOGE savings

  • False claims about 150-year olds receiving Social Security payments.

  • A false claim about FEMA spending on migrant housing.

This is just a taste of the lies Trump wants all to believe. If you want greater detail on all of these lies, please CLICK HERE

CONCLUSION

This is the second time around and they want us all to believe their lies. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

The lady who lost her job still supports Trump, so I guess we are facing “shame on me.”

Openyourojos and all who voted for and still support Trump, how do you like your eggs? $15

per dozen?

Thanks for reading.
